ECIT Virtus acquires Húnabókhald

Stronger service and increased growth for customers

We are excited to announce that ECIT Virtus ehf. has completed the acquisition of the operations of Húnabókhald ehf., which will further strengthen our position in the Icelandic financial market. Húnabókhald's operations will be formally merged with ECIT Virtus as of January 1, 2024, and both existing and new customers will benefit from this merger.

With this acquisition, ECIT Virtus' staff will increase to around 23 people and we will serve over 500 clients in financial-related projects. This includes a wide range of services in the fields of accounting, payroll and multi-faceted financial consulting, including settlement and tax advice. ECIT Virtus' estimated turnover next year is half a billion ISK, which shows the strength and stability of the company in financial services.

Although Húnabókhald's operations will be merged with ECIT Virtus, there will be no changes to staffing or service to Húnabókhald's nearly 160 clients. The work will continue in the same spirit, but with the advantage that now clients will have access to even more professional knowledge and experience that ECIT Virtus has built up both in Iceland and abroad.

Rannveig Lena Gísladóttir, who has led Húnabókhald for the past few years, will take over the position of Managing Director of the Accounting Department at ECIT Virtus. She will continue to be responsible for servicing all Húnabókhald clients, who will continue to enjoy the traditional service they are familiar with, in addition to now gaining access to the broader and deeper financial services that ECIT Virtus has to offer.

ECIT Virtus ehf. is a subsidiary of the Norwegian financial services company ECIT AS, which has around 2.500 employees in over a hundred locations in ten countries. ECIT AS is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and has set itself the goal of continued internal and external growth. This applies both to maximizing economies of scale in the Icelandic market and to ensuring diverse and reliable financial services for our customers.
